A day at

A Fun Place To Be

Under Two’s

At A Fun Place To Be we respect that whānau are the child’s first teachers and strive to keep consistency between centre and home this means that our daily programme in our Under Two’s is based around your individual child’s personal needs and requirements.

Our caring and experienced Under Two’s teachers will greet you every morning to discuss your child’s needs for the day. As routine caregiving is so important with our youngest learners interactions are calm, caring and unrushed. Reciprocal relationships are vital and our teachers go over and above to ensure you and your little one are happy and content.

While not involved in daily routines our Under Two’s are able to participate in a range of educational, stimulating and fun activities either inside or outside.

At the end of the day you will be given a breakdown of your child’s day that includes information such as sleep times, nappy changes, food intake and what your child has been up doing during the day.

Over Two’s

On arrival your child is free to choose from a variety of educational, stimulating and fun activities either inside or outside until mat time at 9.45am. Mat time is a special time of day when we all come together as group.
We sing songs, dance, read books, take part in group activities all while having fun and developing vital skills such as taking turns and listening to others point of view.

Then morning tea at 10:00am, lunch at 11.45pm and rolling afternoon tea from 2.00pm.  Kai time is an important part of our programme, not only for young children to get the nourishment they need for a busy day of learning and play but it also offers a wonderful social opportunity for teachers and children to engage in conversation.

Following lunch if your child need’s a sleep, beds and clean linen will be provided. If you wish to bring in a blanket, teddy or dummy to ensure their comfort needs are met then please feel free to do so.  When lunch boxes are packed away, children will then have the opportunity to choose from inside/outside activities including art, puzzles, books, dramatic play, construction, active play and adventures with friends until home time.
